Lessons are paid for by monthly tuition with holidays, breaks, and vacation time set up a year in advance. Tuition rates for the 2010 year are as follows: $110 per month for 40 minute private lessons, $165 per month for 60 minute private lessons, $100 for 8 week group Recreational Music Making classes, $60/month for kids Music By Me music composition classes, $85 per month for partner piano lessons, $60/month for group piano lessons (ages 5-10), $20 for workshops for studio members, $45 for workshops for non/members, and $45/hour for extra private instruction. 30 minute lessons are ONLY available to 4-5 year old students. I do not believe that 30 minute lessons for any other students are pedagogically sound and they do not promote a well-rounded piano/music education.
A $40 lending library/studio fee is required every year for private students who borrow music from the library. Students are required to purchase basic lesson/workshop materials. On occasion, the teacher will provide supplementary pieces of music for students.
With Dolce Music Service, you are paying for more than just a weekly lesson. Tuition covers scheduled weekly lessons throughout the year, but also other activities and work that the teacher does on the student’s behalf. Performance classes, group lessons, and some recitals are also included in the tuition payment. There will be additional fees for some formal recital venues, festivals, and competitions in which a student may choose to partake.
Additional Information:
- Family discounts are available; each additional student added after the first one will receive a 20% discount off your tuition.
- If a current student refers another student for lessons, a credit of $25 will be applied toward future book purchases.
- Worried about affording music lessons for your family? Ask about merit-need based scholarships. Music lessons are for everyone. We make music affordable to everyone. Our philosophy is that no one should go without music in their lives due to financial limitations.
