Luke Rackers has over 5 years of experience teaching piano lessons. He is currently studying piano pedagogy, music composition, curriculum development, and musicology at the master’s level, and is continually working to improve his teaching philosophy and skills to better serve his students. Luke loves to share his passion for music with others.
Luke tailors each lesson plan to the individual student’s needs, desires, and passions. In addition to teaching from popular method series, Luke also supplements materials and repertoire from his expansive library to help create a well-rounded education. Students are encouraged to learn a variety of genres including classical, jazz, contemporary, popular, folk, broadway, and others. As they progress, students can pick a genre that they would like to emphasize.
Luke offers many fun options to his students, including informal and formal recitals, small group performance classes, themed summer lessons, festivals, and MTNA student awards and competitions. Luke pushes students to be the best possible musician they can be, while maintaining a fun, exciting, and relaxing atmosphere.
In addition to private lessons, Luke also offers, partner piano lessons, group lessons from 6-10 year olds, Recreational Music Making piano classes for working/busy adults, workshops and festivals on various music topics, and improvisation classes/workshops focused on healing.
